Babywearing 101
Babywearing 101 is meant for parents and caregivers who want to know more about babywearing, for newborns, bigger babies or even toddlers. This class is suitable for parents-to-be, or anyone who already has their baby. Bring your baby with you if you have them! If you don’t, we have weighted dolls available to try in the carriers.

- This event requires pre-registration.
- Class cost is $10.
- Each registered person may bring a partner, covered by the $10 price.
- Feel free to bring slings and carriers you already own, especially if you have specific questions about their use.
- Please register online, by phone (835-4614), or e-mail no later than 24 hours before the event. Don’t forget to include your name, e-mail and phone number. Registration is first-come, first-served. Be aware that these workshops often fill up fast, and it is wise to register at least a week in advance to guarantee your spot. Payment is required before the class to hold confirm your spot.

Babywearing 201: Back Carries
This back carries class is appropriate for parents with babies of all ages (newborn to school age), who would like to learn how to carry their baby or child on their back. Whether you are just starting out with baby carriers or you’ve been using them for a long time and want to perfect a certain back carry, this class is for you. Instruction will include mei tais, soft-structured carriers such as the Beco, Ergo and Boba, and wraps. Please bring any carriers you own with which you would like assistance. Children and babies are welcome and we encourage parents to bring them along when possible.
This class will include a variety of wrapping methods for back carries; different options for getting your baby or child onto your back; and special considerations required for back carries, such as what to do with your hair and how to see whether your child is sleeping!
This class is one hour long (with an additional half an hour for questions) and the fee is $10 (includes partner). Register online, phone us at 403-835-4614 or e-mail us.
Cloth Diapering 101
The decision to use cloth or disposable diapers can be an overwhelming one. There are many options for types and brands on either path, and conflicting opinions exist on which is a better choice for you, your baby and the environment.
If you have already made the decision to cloth diaper, you may be wondering whether to buy pre-folds, fitteds, pockets or all-in-ones… and what about all the accessories?! Many parents also have questions about how to care for their cloth diapers.

- The class will include comparisons of disposable and cloth diapers based on economic, health and environmental factors; descriptions of the different types of cloth diapers (flat, pre-fold, fitted, pocket, all-in-one and cloth/disposable hybrids); an outline of factors that may affect your decision (cost, effectiveness, ease of use, diaper materials, planned number of children); a list of diapering accessories that you may need or want; and how to care for your cloth diapers in a way that is both user-friendly and will ensure the longevity of your diapers.
- Examples of each type will be on hand to touch and feel.

Private, In-Home Babywearing and Cloth Diapering Classes
Like the idea of a class but prefer the comfort of your own home? Or maybe the scheduled dates don’t work for you? All the above classes are offered as in-home consultations for up to eight couples. A class runs an hour and a half and costs $75 whether it’s just you or you invite seven other families. Book a cloth diapering class and a babywearing class at the same time and the cost per class drops to $65!
